Cutting edge initiatives in home design aim to make technology in our homes more and more intuitive, not only making our lives easier, but reducing our impact on the environment.

As we build The Guild on 30th, we are relentlessly intentional about making these townhomes “smart.” What does that entail? Today, we’d like to present some of the optional features these homes will have.

ENERGY EFFICIENT FEATURES

The intelligence of these townhomes extends beyond the appliances. The Guild on 30th is built with a commitment to innovative and eco-friendly design, construction, and maintenance. All of the light fixtures are LED lights, which are 80% more efficient than fluorescent and incandescent lights. Water efficiency is maximized with a Rheem high efficiency tankless water heater and water-wise landscaping. All of the windows in the units are made of dual-glazed, low-E, low-emissivity glass, which maximizes thermal insulation. Each unit is also prewired for solar panels and electric vehicle charging stations, should you choose to add those components.

Nest Thermostats

All of the units will have Nest Thermostats installed. This self-adjusting and intuitive technology learns your preferences and daily routines, adapting and building a schedule around yours. It can sense when you’re gone, and shifts into energy-saving “Auto-away” mode. You can adjust the temperature on the easy-to-use display, or through an app your smartphone. These features have saved homeowners up to 20% on their heating and cooling bill, and have saved over 8 billion kWh of energy worldwide since this product launched in 2011. Its intuitive features keep you comfortable, even in San Diego heat waves, but also know how to best help you save energy. Alongside the Amazon Echo or Google Home, this appliance can be voice activated!

Location

The very location of The Guild on 30th is accretive to the built-in eco-friendly technology and design features. Even before we started construction, this project was recognized as a Smart Infill Development by Circulate San Diego’s Move Alliance, http://www.circulatesd.org/move .

The property is close to transit and bikeable to downtown, Balboa Park, and other nearby neighborhoods, meaning that you can use more sustainable and eco-friendly ways to get around.  And when you do have to use your auto, 5 major freeways are within 1.5 miles of the property, so you are within a short drive of most of San Diego!

From the rooftop decks to the attached garages, the state-of-the-art design of these smart homes will have you saying “Great Scott!” If you’re interested in making The Guild on 30th a part of your future, contact one of our residential advisors today by emailing sales@guildon30th.com, calling 619.269.9800 or visiting http://www.guildon30th.com.
